I’ve been trying to figure out for a while now what to focus this blog on. I originally had the idea to make it the landing point for all the random things I find on the internet. That was back in the wordpress days of this thing. But lately I’ve been asking myself what am I truly passionate about. If I could do anything, what would I want to do? My answer, I’ve finally accepted is travel and meet people. And try new foods while I’m at it.
So next trip. That’s what this will turn into. My travel blog. I’ll find a way to connect it to my photos blog: http://thisbeccalynnphotos.tumblr.com/. But it’ll probably suffer from the same fate for a while, low blogging rate. I suppose I could go back in time. It did take me almost two months to write about my New York trip last year. I have some stuff saved up from my two weeks in Europe I never touched on. Would also make me go back and research some of the places I went. I think the success of this will be on setting a schedule. But after reading articles like this: http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/06/30/the-busy-trap/?smid=fb-share I feel silly adding another “thing to do” to my schedule and making myself even guiltier for not getting the books stacked three high on my night stand or the two week old New York Times Sunday I’m trying to get catch-up on. But then I read things like this: http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2012/07/why-only-yuppies-feel-busy-an-economic-theory/259534/ And remember realistically I just have a bunch of 1st world problems.
But I digress. The new point of this blog, I hope, will be travel. And new cultures, and meeting people. I’ll probably though in the random article and funny political joke from time to time. But mostly because I can’t help it.
